In 2022, the City of Shawnee was awarded a Parks as Community Wellness Hubs Grant from the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) . This grant laid the foundation for the Healthier Because We Live Here Community Wellness Hub and strengthened our commitment to supporting the overall well-being of our community.
