Where can I get more information on availability?
Parties are available Saturday and Sundays at 12:30pm, 2:30pm, and 4:30pm. Parties are available at the Thomas A. Soetaert Aquatic Center Monday-Friday at 1:30pm, 3:30pm, and 5:30pm and at Splash Cove at 1:30pm and 3:30pm. Due to scheduling, you will be unable to access the party room/cabana until your party time and beyond your rental time. You must remove all your belongings from the party room by the end of your rental. For a schedule of available dates and times, please visit us online.
When should I book?
Reservations are open now! All parties must be booked 7 days in advance.
What is the cost of a party?
Please see above for party pricing. All pricing includes 90 minutes in the party room and admission for alloted number of guests.
How much is admission for my party guests?
Admission is included in your party package for up to 12 or up to 24 guests.
Who will help us out the day of the event?
Pool staff will escort you to the party room and answer any questions you may have. They will deliver any pre-ordered Build-a-Beach food and drink at the time you scheduled. For smooth operation, pool staff may be pulled away from parties for general facility needs.
Who should I include in my party headcount?
Everyone entering the facility must pay admission. This includes the host family, guest of honor, those swimming, and anyone not swimming.
Do you allow substitutions to the Build-a-Beach packages?
Due to the pricing structure of the package, we are unable to allow substitutions.
What if we have food allergies?
In the instance of allergies, substitutions will be considered on a case by case basis. These substitutions will be items of equal value.
Can we bring outside food and drink?
Yes, outside food and drink are welcome! Any outside food/drink must stay in the party zone. No glass or alcohol is allowed.
Are you able to refrigerate outside food and drink?
Unfortunately, we cannot put any outside food or drink in our refrigerators per the health department. You are however welcome to bring in your coolers, but they must be kept in the party zone. You can check them with the front desk prior to your party time if you choose to arrive early to swim.
I am ready to book! What should I do next?
Visit us online! All availability and reservations can be processed online. If you have participated or rented a facility with Shawnee Parks & Recreation in the past, you already have an account. The system will not allow you to create a duplicate household. If you need assistance with your account, you can contact staff at the Shawnee Civic Centre at (913)631-5200.
I am a Shawnee resident, but my resident rate is not calculating.
The registration software automatically selects residency based on addresses input by the city’s GIS system. If you believe you are receiving the wrong price, please call (913) 631-5200. Staff will check your address and provide the appropriate residency update to your account.
