Listowel Park is named after Shawnee’s sister city, Listowel, Ireland. In 1985, the Shawnee City Council established this connection, recognizing the Irish heritage of many early settlers. The park was dedicated in 1986 as a tribute to those who emigrated from Ireland to the Shawnee area.
Listowel Park features 8.4 aces of parkland including a playground, swings, roller hockey courts, a baseball/softball field, and a 0.4 mile walking trail. Listowel Park is popular for baby showers, birthday parties and futsal. The tennis courts have lights available for evening play.
